Purpose

Fantasy Map Generator is an independently operated utility in Elizabeth Knopf’s portfolio. It helps you complete a specific task without an account.

Methodology

A seeded random number generator builds several scales of interpolated elevation and moisture noise. Coast, forest, dryland and mountain bands turn that field into a fictional terrain grid. Settlements are spaced on habitable land. This is procedural illustration, not a simulation of plate tectonics, climate or watersheds. No generative AI or external map imagery is used.
